Oscar Recession Stylist: Ella's Pick for Salma Hayek

Then what about Salma's bust? It's accentuated here with ruffles - the hugest (possibly) trend of today.

Salma would look so beautiful and amazingly sexy in this gown. But this is a recessionista special, and we're unlikely to see this $500 masterpiece walk down the red carpet nearly any year.
What might Salma actually wear?
I'm imagining Dior. I'd go mad for a Romantique-style dress like the handbag collection. I can really see it on Salma, and it's so much more flattering than that silly Grecian thing that's been Oscar-trendy for years.
This gown shows off the waist with no extra padding, like a belt or ruching, which can really help a fabulously gorgeous woman such as Ms. Hayek. Plus there's the added bonus of the very high-up belt, which is unusual (and this adds a little bling).

Salma not only has an ample bosom and a fabulous curvy figure, but she's fit with a little waist to boot. Salma would look amazing with something high waisted and form-fitting at the same time. A wide belted evening gown, a ruched midsection; these are things that could work. I picked something similar to that....

Nicole Richie Vanity Fair After Party She's looking really sickening. My nose gets bigger as I lose weight, too, but look at her forearms! Blegh. And her fingers! Just bones. They don't look human.

Felicity Huffman: Felicity Huffman Oscars I loved that Felicity showed skin, until I saw the sheer side panels. No! Wrong! Tacky and skanky! Ugh. Maggie Gyllenhaal: Maggie Gyllenhaal Oscars I don't think this dress FITS Maggie, at all. Her chest is very slouchy and her breasts look very large, without there being any actual cleavage. Also, that belt is off from the waist and it looks odd.

Hilary Swank Oscars I see this dress as not so safe for Ms. Swank, because it's different from her usual backless dresses. Instead of covering up her front, she bared more of her chest. The dress is also just elegantly beautiful. (Plus, I really love the trailing tail.)

Zhang Ziyi Oscars Giorgio Armani I disagree with Miss Cinnamon, I think Zhang Ziyi looked beautiful in her Oscars gown. It even skims and floats off her petite frame better than on the model. After a couple of events with brightly colored gowns, I'm also glad that she went black and white, and she did it with a feminine elegance.
